An exciting opportunity has arisen to become a business development support officer assisting the sales team in acquiring new business and maintaining existing customers. A confident telephone manner is essential and the ability to work off own initiative.
A varied role which includes:
· Identify sales opportunities based on the company's Business Plans
· Undertake market research and prospect identification on a industrial sector basis based on information and resource provided by the technical BD staff
· Arrange sales appointments for the Sales team.
· Provide assistance with booking travel and accommodation for BD staff as requested.
· Service existing sales opportunities by following-up quotations via courtesy/chase calls and liasing with quote authors regarding changing client needs.
· Undertake client maintenance based on tactics, plans and strategies agreed with your line manager.
· Update and maintain SAP Business One customer database with customer intelligence.
· Respond to Marketing/Sales enquires and co-ordinate the appropriate response.
· Prepare literature packs as required for visitors and Sales activities.
· Locate new customers for core products/services via internet, periodical and mailing list review.
· Assist with organising and managing exhibition stands and provide on-site support as required.
· Liase with the line manager in producing a rolling Sales Operational plan.
· Undertake any other support activities as thought appropriate by your line manager
Additional Activities:
· Provide training to new staff in the use of CRM software and SOP's for BD.
· Undertake research into new markets for products and services as agreed and prioritised by the line manager
· To carry out competitor research and locate price lists
