    THE JOB

    Due to work demands we are looking for additional support within our Marketing Department and need an individual who can bring inspirational graphic design capabilities to our organisation.

    PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF POSITION

    To head up the Graphic Design section of the Marketing Team and company as a whole, by bringing creative concepts for new and existing projects in order to contain all Graphic Design work for the company in-house.

    MAIN AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY AND ACCOUNTABILITY

    Design Tasks carried out for the Marketing Department

    ·Branding for the company.

    ·Images for website and e-commerce site.

    ·Creation of new seasonal magazines.

    ·Merchandising hints and tips, guides and flyers.

    ·Adverts for Members are designed on an ad hoc basis.Assorted merchandise, clothing and point of sale order forms and catalogues are designed monthly.

    ·The quarterly newsletter is sent out to the members and provides an update on the latest company and industry news.

    ·Design and inputting of all in-house produced leaflets which are used in store or for leaflet door drops.Order forms are also used produced to support the leaflets.

    ·For the company Conference items designed are the booking form reminders, conference logo designs, invitations, name badges, place cards, A3 and A4 signs etc.

    ·Various design works are carried out for the Tradeshow.An A4 information brochure is designed for the tradeshow to send out to Members, build up and breakdown forms are designed, logos for the passes and the badge design is produced.Lunch vouchers, parking permits, name badges for staff etc are also produced.The Exhibitors Manual, providing all the information required for the show is produced on the run up to the show.

    Design Tasks carried out for the Purchasing Department

    ·Indents, logo designs, questionnaires, sales out forms and stock list covers are designed on a weekly and sometimes monthly basis.The brown and white goods list/order form for tradeshow is produced in season.

    General Design Tasks

    ·Creative concepts for new projects as and when required.

    ·Ad-hoc point of sale and leaflets design work.

    ·To ensure that all work carried out is in line with merchandising guidelines.

    ·To assist with PR and advertising.

    GENERAL

    ·Demonstrate appropriate conduct within your working environment by being professional and polite at all times to your co-workers, customers and members; thereby promoting a positive and professional image of the Company.

    ·To make a proactive contribution to the Department and the Company as a whole.

    ·Work with discretion and diplomacy.

    ·Ensure that all work carried out conforms to the Company's Health and Safety policies.

    ·Some information handled within this post may be strictly confidential and much be treated as such.

    COMPETENCIES

    ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED

    ATTAINMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS

    Degree, BTEC or equivalent in Pure Graphic Design or a Media course with a graphic element

    Portfolio of work to be presented

    RELEVANT EXPERIENCE

    Essential:

    ·Previous graphics experiencewith a proven track record of demonstrating creative flair and working within timescales and budgets

    ·Commercial/retail environment background

    ·Mainly 2 dimensional design but some experience of 3 dimensional would be an advantage

    ·Previous experience of mediums such as POS, logos, leaflets etc

    SKILLS REQUIRED

    Essential:

    ·Sound knowledge of Quark, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, In-Design and Dreamweaver

    ·Ability to interpret the clients business needs and developing a concept to suit their purpose

    ·Thinking creatively to produce new ideas and concepts

    ·Using innovation to redefine a design brief within the constraints of cost and time

    ·Ability to work with a wide range of media including photography and CAD

    ·Presenting accurate and high quality work

    ·Working within a small but busy team which has seasonal peaks you will have the ability to prioritize and plan your workload and support other members of the team whilst they are absence

    ·Accurate, methodical and attention to detail are essential so that information presented gives a professional image of the company at all times

    ·Proactive and ability to work on own initiative

    ·Proven track record of meeting deadlines

    ·Ability to show initiative

    ·Track record of print liaison and therefore building sound relationships with third parties
