The Job
To test, diagnose and repair electronic modules and printed circuit boards.
Key Tasks:
• Diagnose faults and repair electronic modules/printed circuit boards to component level on both surface mount and through plate technology equipment using a variety of standard bench and special to type test equipment
• Functional Test using all in-house equipment
• Undertake ESD testing and recording
• Liaise with customers and suppliers
• Provide written reports to customers and managers.
Qualifications:
ONC/HNC or equivalent in an Electronics Engineering discipline
Skills:
Repair both state of the art and twilight technology equipment.
Excellent fault finding skills without the use of circuit diagrams.
Knowledge:
Knowledge of analogue and digital circuits, power supplies and control circuits and industrial control technology.
Knowledge of PC based systems.
Experience:
Competent Test Engineer, proficient in the use of surface mount and plate technology equipment
Excellent fault finding skills.
Expertise in the diagnosis of products.
