| Support Services Manager The Company This company has been operating as a RYA registered sailing school for over 10 years. The business was acquired in early 2004 and aims to expand the charter division to individuals, groups and businesses. The Company purchased four Farr 65s in December in 2004, 2 new Beneteau 40.7s in 2005 and recently acquired 2 brand new Dehler 39 sqs in 2006. The investment in yachts means the company has built on the existing sea school business to offer a full range of sailing activity aboard high performance yachts for skippered charter, corporate sailing, race charter, mile building opportunities, cruising, adventure sailing trips, ocean passages and Caribbean charter. ________________________________________ The Fleet A unique feature to the charter operation is ownership of an unrivalled fleet of identical 65ft ocean racing yachts (Farr 65s) and 40ft racer/cruisers (Beneteau 40.7s and Dehler 39s) designed for non-experts and run by our patient and friendly professional skippers and mates. The 2 Dehler 39s are also utilised as sea school yachts for ONDECK Sailing's Sea School division. The courses are run by qualified instructors approved by UK's industry's regulator, the Royal Yachting Association (RYA). • Farr 65ft ocean racers • Farr 40ft ocean racers • Beneteau 40.7s • Dehler 39 sq • Volvo Ocean 60 • Open 60 Pindar • The Hatherleigh The Job Job Role Overseeing all UK vessel maintenance and support services, including management of 10 Maintenance staff. Responsibilities • Ensure a very high standard of customer care • Promote Ondeck in a positive manor at all times • Uphold Ondeck’s Values and behaviours and ensure all support staff do the same • Line management responsibility and accountability for all maintenance and support staff • Ensuring all vessels are in compliance with statutory bodies rules & regulations (MCA etc.) • Manage all parts ordering, storage and stock control • Manage all maintenance budgets and liaise with Finance Manager • Recruitment of maintenance and support staff • Liaising with and maintaining relationship with suppliers • Ensuring compliance to HSE and COSH regulations in line with industry standards and procedures • Accountable for creating and maintaining accurate maintenance records for all craft • Liaise with Logistics manager and Sea School to ensure timely completion of any defects before charter • Operate maintenance department as P&L unit • Develop and train staff where necessary • Carry out yearly staff appraisals • Ensuring full compliance of company documentation • Any other job as reasonably requested by your Line Manager Skills / Qualifications • Extensive experience of yacht and motor boat maintenance • Extensive experience of parts inventory and store management • Excellent Communication skills, people skills, Leadership skills, telephone manner • Highly organised Salary £25 – 27K 40 hours Shifts 20 days holiday |
