Sales and Technical Sales Support for OEM Accounts The Company A dynamic, rapidly growing video and communications business is seeking to hire an Algorithmic System Designer to work within the R&D Department. The forefront of innovation, developing technologies in the fields of digital wireless, video, audio, telemetry and IP. Leading designer of wireless communication technologies, products are used by law enforcement and military customers worldwide, enabling them to combat major crime, terrorism and drug trafficking. The key technology expertise is in digital video processing, digital modulation schemes and Internet Protocol (IP) interfacing. Products can transmit broadcast quality videos across non-line of sight digital wireless networks, and then distribute received video across IP networks as required. Developing complex technologies into simple-to-operate, robust solutions. System components have been designed for ease of integration into robotic and airborne platforms, as well as more conventional personnel and ground vehicle based applications. The Job 50% of sales are OEM (approx 7M pound), these sales occur through our OEM clients around the world. There are 20 main clients, and approximately 50 minor clients, spread around 5 main geographic regions, the UK, Europe, USA, China and Israel. These OEM accounts must be managed, which involves helping them to integrate the products (training, literature, site visits, email and telephone support), advising them of new products, coordinating change requests. Commercially there is a need to generate contracts and negotiate discounts. Candidates are expected to have a good awareness of customer requirements as you will be responsible for managing OEM Sales accounts by geographic region, driving new sales, and resolving customer technical queries. Good written communication and presentation skills are essential. Reporting to the Sales Director you will be responsible for: • Interfacing direct with senior engineers within the OEM client, to ensure successful integration of OEM solutions. • Generating technical white papers and also technical sales literature to facilitate easier integrations. • Liaising with engineering to coordinate new design releases, feedback qualified customer design change requests. • Providing customer demonstrations. • To have the ability to use and set up equipment to replicate customer feedback. • Working closely with the business development team on new markets and special projects • Developing a sales plan, targets and monitoring sales activity in the OEM accounts. • Reporting prospects and orders in accordance with company standard reporting format. • Managing all commercial aspects of existing and new customer orders, price lists and discount structures. • Liaising with company operations and engineering team on deliveries and introduction of new products and services You will have a good honours degree or equivalent in an Electronics related discipline. In addition you should ideally have hands on ability with PCB level technical products and some background in RF would be useful. Extensive travel maybe required. This position is full time (35 hours) and offers a salary between £40k- £50k. In addition we operate a contributory pension scheme by which the company will contribute up to 5% of your salary. |
