Support Worker
Nobilis is a family run business with the head office in Southampton and branches in Farnham and Chichester. We believe in Choices for Independent Living and the delivery of a high quality service, and seek to employ those who share our beliefs.
If you are looking for a neat 9 – 5pm job this is not for you, however if you have a passion to care for others, have experience of working with the elderly or children and adults with learning disabilities and have your own transport then we would like to hear from you.
About the post and aims of:
To provide appropriate support to our clients, usually within their own homes, or within the community. Our aim is to enable and promote all clients to reach a certain level of independence and maintain a community presence.
General Duties:
The role of a support worker can be variable and can include some, but not limited to, the following:
• Personal care
• Domestic duties
• Meal Preparation and assistance with eating and drinking
• Social and emotional support when accessing the community
• Day trips and respite care
• Development and maintenance of independent living
• Support with finances
• Management of correspondence
• Support with taking and managing medication
• Record keeping
Each client is assessed and a specially tailored Care/Support Plan is compiled to meet their individual needs. Support workers will support clients following this plan.
Who do we support?
• People with a physical disability
• People with a Learning Disability
• People suffering from mental/ill health
• Children and their families
Training
All staff will be trained to carry out their duties in a safe and professional manner and deliver the quality of service that is expected. We offer all of our employee’s ongoing training and the option to develop their own skills.
Next Training Dates
March 2010 – Farnham
Specifically looking for staff in Aldershot, Farnham, Farnborough, Basingstoke and Petersfield
We pay you to complete this mandatory training after a successful probationary period.
Flexible-pattern workers (from 1 Apr 09)
Overtime rate
Grade 1 £13,000 £6.75
Grade 2 £14,000 £7.25
Grade 3 £14,500 £7.50
Grade 1: Inexperienced / starter
Grade 2 No qualifications, but at least 1 year care experience
Grade 3 NVQ 2 or equivalent, 1 year care experience
Criminal Bureau Records Check
Each employer will be asked to submit an enhanced CRB check. The cost of this will be covered by Nobilis.
Each member of staff is treated with dignity and is considered a valued and essential member of the team.
