Key Account Manager
Salary £37k - £42k + Car + 25 days Holiday + pension scheme + flexi working time
Eastleigh, Southampton
Our client is looking to recruit a Key Account Manager to work within the Commercial department in the Rail and Defence sector.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
The successful candidate will manage existing business with Key Accounts in the UK, while identifying, developing and managing relationships throughout the supply chain to achieve success in the following areas:-
Achieve targeted sales revenue through distributors and direct customers in line with monthly Management Plan objectives.
Manage and maintain a rolling 3 month sales forecast to assist in supply chain planning ensure consistent achievement of revenue objectives.
Identify and win profitable business through infrastructure projects in Rail and Defence sectors focused on Energy Cable Accessories and Energy Cables.
Work with M&E Contractors and Consultants to ensure specification of the company's core products for use in major projects.
Work with logistics and manufacturing teams to 'optimise' the order book each month, thus meeting customer delivery expectation while achieving forecast sales and margin for the business.
Work with marketing and engineering teams to drive new initiatives aimed at improving product awareness, thus ensuring that the company is the recognised choice in core markets.
Produce joint business plans with Key Account customers to improve results through proactive selling initiatives.
Competitor / Market Analysis and data capture.
Take commercial ownership for New Product Development, and Product Evolution initiatives.
To work with commercial, purchasing and engineering teams to develop initiatives to protect the business against increased competitor entry.
There will be extensive travel throughout the UK.
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
The successful applicant will ideally be degree level qualified in an Engineering discipline or equivalent with a sales and commercial background. You should have a proven track record of generating sales revenue within the electrical industry and have the technical ability to sell products to electrical engineers and consultants. You should be able to recommend solutions based on the customer performance specification and have strong market knowledge; experience of working within the rail or defence markets would be an advantage but is not essential.
You should be a team player who is target driven and able to achieve monthly revenue objectives.
