Senior & Principal Process Engineer

Technical
• Prepare, check and approve as appropriate, the basic design and engineering of all process, utility and offsite equipment and systems.
• Perform onsite activities of pre-commissioning, commissioning, start up and performance test run.
• Act as the discipline technical representative in dealings with Clients and Third Parties.
• Assist with the preparations of proposals within his area of competence.
• Perform the technical and administrative functions of the Process PSL.
• Performs standard calculations to ensure the design of a “safe” plant.
• Good written and verbal skills in the communication of technical information
People and Activity Management
• Demonstrates ability to plan, prioritise and complete allocated workload within the allotted manhours and schedule.
• Co-ordinate, supervises and allocates design activities performed by subordinates.
• Prepares discipline reports for the monitoring of progress, manhour utilisation, efficiency and manpower requirements.
• Identifies circumstances which would adversely affect schedules and manhour consumption.
• Performs the function of process PSL on projects of moderate complexity.
• Acts as mentor to graduate members of the Institute of Chemical Engineers
Computer Systems
• Performs complex simulations.
• Develops new software as appropriate
Client Contact and Activities
• Co-ordinates SPL activities in a task force containing client personnel.
• Able to establish a good working relationship with clients’ engineers
Quality Management and Procedure
• Provides input to the CE for the need to prepare new or revise existing quality procedures to ensure the document is suitable for its purpose.
• Familiar with a wide variety of quality procedures relating to all aspects of a project.
• Ensures that all work is carried out in accordance with company technical procedures.
• Identifies all national and international codes and standards applicable to a specific project and ensures their utilisation
ESSENTIAL qualifications and experience
Degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
Chartered Engineer
Proven experience in Refinery, Petrochem, Oil & Gas or Utilities
SALARY: To 45 000 - 55 000 + Car Allowance + Benefits (depending on experience)
