    Project/Management Accountant
    Base salary up to £40,000 per annum

    Our client is has a unique partnership arrangement with the UK Ministry of Defence (MoD) that enables the provision flexible and responsive decision support to defence issues, reducing both operational and procurement risk. Our client’s business provides a multi-disciplinary environment to explore innovative and practical solutions to capability challenges.

    Following on from the award of a 5 year contract, an opportunity has arisen for a Project / Management Accountant within the organisation.

    The job holder will be a part of the Commercial / Finance team and report to the Finance Manager

    The role benefits from the breadth of financial activities that are required to be undertaken, covering not just project accounting but management / statutory reporting too.

    The principle responsibilities include:

    • Supporting the Finance Manager with Monthly Reporting, Integrated Business Planning and Phased Budget requirements.

    • Contract Status Report preparation and analysis.

    • Assist in Half Year / Full Year reporting requirements

    • Working with budget holders on actual / forecast performance.

    • Support Theme (Project) Leaders with Financial Management of Themes (Projects), and attendance at Theme Status Reviews.

    • Support the Programme Manager with capacity management.

    • Support the Commercial Team on financial matters. Including Costing / pricing of new activities.

    • Various transactional activities that include: maintaining financial ledgers and registers, generation of routine and ad-hoc reports to meet business needs, the raising of customer invoices, debtor and creditor management and the maintenance of financial systems.

    The Person:

    • The individual should have strong interpersonal skills and positively contribute in to the team environment. A proactive nature with a tenacity to actively challenge is also a requirement.

    • The candidate will be CIMA passed finalist / qualified.

    • Experience in using Excel is essential, and knowledge of SAP would be beneficial.
